Last Saturday, June 1st, 2025, the village of Latronico hosted an inspiring edition of TEDxLatronico, titled “CREDICI,” an invitation to never give up and to build change, even starting from small communities. Eight speakers, eight stories of determination and vision, took turns on stage to show how believing in one’s ideas can generate real impact across a wide range of fields—from tourism to entrepreneurship, from sports to the arts.
Among the speakers was Giuseppe Landolfo, CFO and founder of i-Foria, who delivered a talk titled: “Circular Economy: Turning Waste into Resources—No Longer a Choice, but a Necessity.”
Landolfo offered a clear and compelling reflection on the urgency of rethinking our economic model, drawing inspiration from the virtuous practices of traditional villages, where nothing went to waste. Today, he emphasized, “we live on a spaceship with limited resources: it’s time to recover, reuse, innovate.” A powerful message that resonated with the audience and reaffirmed i-Foria’s commitment to promoting sustainable technological solutions.
TEDxLatronico was also an opportunity to showcase a community that believes in the power of thought and in the ability of small places to become incubators of global ideas. During the event, the voices of Stefania Smargiassi, ethologist and researcher, and organizers Raffaele D’Angelo and Ivan Lofrano also stood out, contributing to the creation of an authentic event full of insights.
